Used engines, matched to your VIN
Complete gas and diesel assemblies pulled from salvage inventory across the country. Every unit we quote comes with a recorded mileage figure and a written warranty term.
What you actually receive
An engine assembly means different things at different suppliers, so here is exactly what ours means.
Included on a standard assembly
- Engine block with crankshaft, pistons and rods
- Cylinder head or heads, with valve train
- Oil pan, timing cover and intake manifold
- Accessories that were bolted on at the yard, where present
Engine types we source
These are the categories that move most often. Anything outside them, ask.
| Engine family | Common applications | Notes on fitment |
|---|---|---|
| 4-cylinder gas | Compacts, sedans, small crossovers | Watch for turbo and non-turbo variants in the same model year |
| V6 gas | Midsize sedans, minivans, midsize SUVs | Front and all-wheel-drive versions can differ at the mounts |
| V8 gas | Full-size trucks, SUVs, muscle cars | Cylinder deactivation and displacement changes are common |
| Inline diesel | Heavy-duty pickups, work vans | Emissions equipment varies sharply by model year |
| Hybrid gas | Hybrid sedans and crossovers | The engine and the hybrid drive unit are separate parts |
Before an engine gets quoted to you
Yards vary in what they can test, and we tell you which checks were done on your specific unit rather than promising the same list every time.
Mileage on record
Recorded from the donor vehicle. If a yard cannot document the mileage, we say so rather than estimating.
Compression and oil pressure
Checked where the supplying yard has the equipment to run the test on a pulled unit.
Visual and interchange
Casting numbers and interchange data checked against your vehicle so the part number lines up.
Installing it without voiding the warranty
Most warranty claims that get declined come down to one of these four things.
Use a licensed shop
Installation has to be done by a licensed repair facility and you need to keep the invoice.
Replace the wear items
New oil, filter, gaskets, thermostat and timing components where the service interval calls for them.
Fix what killed the last one
A failed radiator or oil cooler will take out the replacement too. Diagnose the cause first.
Report problems early
Call us before you tear anything down. Work carried out without authorization isn't covered.
Send us the VIN and we'll find the engine.
